DeGolyer
Joseph DeGolyer is an award-winning filmmaker and writer, born in North Carolina and raised in Utah. He started making short films on a VHS camcorder in his childhood, and eventually made his feature debut with the 2020 micro-budget thriller, The 13th Cross.
Throughout his career, DeGolyer has created a diverse range of video content, including ads for political campaigns, gag gifts, and backpacking gear. Since 2021, he has served as the lead Content Creator for Outdoor Vitals, directing and editing hundreds of videos related to hiking and the outdoors, including several viral long-form backpacking documentaries.
Apart from his filmmaking, Joseph has also made a name for himself as a podcast producer, having produced and hosted numerous shows, such as OV’s Live Ultralight Podcast and The Godzilla Podcast.
DeGolyer’s latest project is his second feature film, Chicken Coop, starring Monica Moore Smith (Curse of Crom: The Legend of Halloween) and Noah Kershisnik (The Killing of Two Lovers). The movie is scheduled to start making rounds at the festival circuit in late 2023.
